Tourism Policy

Unfortunately, many of the governmental and non-governmental actions to improve the performance of tourism activities --whether at destination or company level-- lack knowledge and understanding of the tourism system. Often they are also uncoordinated, and have inadequate governance institutions and procedures for their implementation. Tourism policy is at its infancy, in sharp contrast with other sectorial (industrial, agricultural) and transversal (employment, incomes, monetary, fiscal…) public policies.

The UlyssesFoundation and its members have accumulated expertise in the design and implementation of tourism policy plans and programmes. They have worked for central, regional and local governments all over the world. They have served as public officials, advisors and experts for international agencies performing in tourism policy. They have published books and articles, taught at universities and business schools, managed destinations, organizations, and companies, and can act in the most varied scenarios and circumstances. Tourism Policy is one of the most important areas of interest for the UlyssesFoundation.
